Manta is Love. Manta is Life.

Chapeau to Kissling Motorsport's Opel Manta B for finishing the N24 2015 in 52th place overall and 1st in SP3 class.

That's how I celebrated that astonishing result with their 1984 Spa24h livery.
This is also a chance to showcase a couple of new things I've done to the model. Changed old low quality brake disks and calipers with better quality ones, added discglow effect and created the lensflares effect, to enhance the night racing atmosphere.

It's all in the details

There won't be releases for a while.
I want to focus even on the smallest details.
#45 Opel Manta ran in 1984 with two different sets of rims on front and rear, so I had to recreate that in rF.
As always, I'm not the author of neither the cars nor skins/physics/sounds/whatever you see in my blog. I just convert (And improve) them from GTR2/GTL/Assetto Corsa/rF2/pCARS/whatever is the original source. So all credits go to them.
If you want to contribute in any way, leave me a comment below.
And yes, those are the VW Scirocco rims that I showed in the previous post. They were used by this Opel Manta aswell in '83 and '84.

Filling holes here and there pt2

Every year hundreds of race fans gather in the VLN streaming on Youtube for the N24 race just to cheer and root for the Mighty and Legendary Opel Manta B. We don't care who's winning, we only care about our beloved Manta.

Manta is love. Manta is life.

On a side note, the VW Scirocco is also done. the Manta still need some work.

As always, are credits to original authors of models and liveries. I just convert them to rFactor from other sims such as GTR2, GTL and Assetto Corsa.

Filling holes here and there

Yup. I've done two new cars so far. The Audi 80 GTE and the VW Golf Mk1.
Only problem is that the Audi is the wrong model (This is a 4-doors, real was 2-doors) but there's nothing else available and the Golf is only the Mk1 while some cars were Mk2. I've seen a model of it, but for the moment the skins are available only on the Mk1. If anyone wants to contribute in any way, feel free to contact me by leaving a message in the comment section below.

Both cars are part of a "small" addonpack that will feature 4 or 5 brand new 3D models for the TCL mod. All the cars are from the year 1984, that's why they are part of their own pack before joining the rest of the bigger project. They will all come togheter, just at a later date.

Audi
Golf

More to come.

As always, bear in mind that I'm not the author of either the cars or the skins. Everything is done by other people so all credits go to them, all I do is bring them to rFactor and adapt (And slightly improve wherever I can) them to the game.

I'm not dead (yet).

Hi everybody, it's been a while since I last posted here. A lot happened in my personal life in the past few months and I had to deal with some serious healt issues. The fact that I'm here typing this post, however, means that the worse is behind me and I'm (Slowly) recovering.

This project is all but dead, I started working on it again few days ago and got some updates.

First of all, all the cars previously released are not available for download anymore. Reason is simple. I made few sloppy mistakes in some cars, left behind some bugs in other cars, only Godzilla was a "perfect" release: bugless, all working, all features I wanted, everything you could ask for. But not the others. So, I'll fix those cars before releasing them again and work on new ones at the same time.

The main release post was a complete mess, but I left the old list of planned cars. Some are done, some are new, some are not even listed.

Oh well

Yup. The first export of the Jag went as smooth as a baby skin.
The car requires a lot of work before it can be considered finished, but the shell is there and it's a good starting point.
Remember this car is originally from Assetto Corsa, which means I've had to discover that modding method and learn how to convert from that game in less than a day.

Just some tests

This is a Broadspeed Jaguar XJ12C model that was released few days ago and it's for Assetto Corsa. Check the official forums for the download link.

I've never tried converting from that game before (And for all I know this is the first AC conversion for rFactor 1) so it will require time and perhaps it won't come soon. But I got all the files extracted, the textures are extracted aswell and I slowly started renaming the materials.

I don't have -yet- permissions from the author for the conversion, but all credits goes to him anyway.

The car, as mentioned above, is a Jaguar XJ12C that competed in the ETCC in the late '70s in the Group 2 category (What later became Group A) so it would theorically fit in TCL.

First preview of Nissan DR30's update

Sorry if I haven't released or posted anything new lately, but there are a lot of things being worked on at the same time and, sadly, I'm flooded with cars, cockpits and sounds. But I'm getting there. Don't worry. (:

Consider this post a new beginning of this project. From now on I'll try not to release cars in beta stage, but only finished products. Also, expect updates on ORIGINAL TCL cars. Yes, you've read right. Some-if-not-all TCL cars will receive some updates

______

  • Expect heavy updates on the Nissan DR30. New sets of 3D rims borrowed and slightly edited from stock TCL cars will substitute those ugly 2D rims that were there before.
  • Headlights are now paintable. They actually are paintable in the currently available version of the car, but I confused the settings and pointed the wrong textures. Now they will be.
  • I will try to do better textures for the brakelights aswell. Those that are on at the moment are ok, but could be better.
  • A new template was provided by Rot Teufel. It now features a shadow layer and more stuff that will help and enchants the creation of liveries.
  • I will also try to smooth the model a bit, to make it look a bit more pretty. However, remember it was created by scratch in 2006 or 2007 (8 years old!), so there isn't much that can be done.
  • Maybe I will try to add SRPL shaders. Still not sure about this. I'm new at modding, so this Revival Project is a step by step learning project for me.
  • Probably new cockpit. Or an updated version of it. Have to search around for references before doing so.

Consider those rims mainly as modders resources. All the cars included at the moment only use (According to real pictures) the first set. But those other three were used by other DR30 around the world at the time, so if anyone plans on painting some, they will be able to use the proper tires and rims.

[rFactor] TCL Revival Project 2015

This blog is ongoing a reconstruction for better experience. I'll sort it out as soon as I can.

This is a project I recently got involved with that centers around GrA cars or, as we know them in rFactor, Touring Car Legends.

The aim of this project is to bring back to life this mod with new and old cars that original TCL team started but never finished nor released alongside few other cars not done by them, but that still raced in GrA.

Disclaimer: ALL CARS BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE AUTHORS.
I'm not a physic or sound maker, so all cars use stock TCL physics and sounds taken from other cars already in the mod. If you can help in those areas, please let me know. Also, although all cars released so far are labeled "ver1", they're still just a 1:1 conversion. Further updates are already planned for all the cars, both the ones released and the ones that are still to be released.
Requirements:
-TCL 1.1 available here:
(MOD) http://trippteamdownload.servegame.com:100/RFACTOR1/CARS/S-Z/Touring_Car_Legends_V1.1_All-In_One.exe

ALL DOWNLOADS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE, NEW VERSIONS FOR THE PREVIOUSLY RELEASED CARS WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS THEY'RE READY.
