Oh well

Yup. The first export of the Jag went as smooth as a baby skin.
The car requires a lot of work before it can be considered finished, but the shell is there and it's a good starting point.
Remember this car is originally from Assetto Corsa, which means I've had to discover that modding method and learn how to convert from that game in less than a day.

Just some tests

This is a Broadspeed Jaguar XJ12C model that was released few days ago and it's for Assetto Corsa. Check the official forums for the download link.

I've never tried converting from that game before (And for all I know this is the first AC conversion for rFactor 1) so it will require time and perhaps it won't come soon. But I got all the files extracted, the textures are extracted aswell and I slowly started renaming the materials.

I don't have -yet- permissions from the author for the conversion, but all credits goes to him anyway.

The car, as mentioned above, is a Jaguar XJ12C that competed in the ETCC in the late '70s in the Group 2 category (What later became Group A) so it would theorically fit in TCL.

First preview of Nissan DR30's update

Sorry if I haven't released or posted anything new lately, but there are a lot of things being worked on at the same time and, sadly, I'm flooded with cars, cockpits and sounds. But I'm getting there. Don't worry. (:

Consider this post a new beginning of this project. From now on I'll try not to release cars in beta stage, but only finished products. Also, expect updates on ORIGINAL TCL cars. Yes, you've read right. Some-if-not-all TCL cars will receive some updates

______

  • Expect heavy updates on the Nissan DR30. New sets of 3D rims borrowed and slightly edited from stock TCL cars will substitute those ugly 2D rims that were there before.
  • Headlights are now paintable. They actually are paintable in the currently available version of the car, but I confused the settings and pointed the wrong textures. Now they will be.
  • I will try to do better textures for the brakelights aswell. Those that are on at the moment are ok, but could be better.
  • A new template was provided by Rot Teufel. It now features a shadow layer and more stuff that will help and enchants the creation of liveries.
  • I will also try to smooth the model a bit, to make it look a bit more pretty. However, remember it was created by scratch in 2006 or 2007 (8 years old!), so there isn't much that can be done.
  • Maybe I will try to add SRPL shaders. Still not sure about this. I'm new at modding, so this Revival Project is a step by step learning project for me.
  • Probably new cockpit. Or an updated version of it. Have to search around for references before doing so.

Consider those rims mainly as modders resources. All the cars included at the moment only use (According to real pictures) the first set. But those other three were used by other DR30 around the world at the time, so if anyone plans on painting some, they will be able to use the proper tires and rims.
